This 2019 release brings back into print a long-respected classic by celebrated healer Harry Edwards, chronicling the remarkable physical mediumship of Jack Webber, a former miner whose séances became legendary. First published in 1940, the book captures the extraordinary fourteen months leading up to Webber’s sudden death in March of that year, just as the original text was nearing publication.

During this period, Edwards invited journalists from national newspapers to witness the séances for themselves. Many went on to publish detailed and enthusiastic reports, each expressing astonishment at the phenomena they observed: tables rising unaided, cone-shaped trumpets darting through the air, and disembodied voices speaking clearly through these instruments. Some witnesses even claimed to recognise familiar faces emerging from the ectoplasm produced via the medium.

The book’s striking photographs—many taken in complete darkness using infrared equipment by professional photographer Leon Isaacs—offer a rare and vivid visual record of these events. According to Edwards, they provide unmatched evidence of what dedicated spirit collaboration can produce.

Together, the photographs and accounts pay tribute not only to the breadth of phenomena said to be achieved through Webber’s mediumship, but also to the commitment of the spirit team believed to be working with him, and to Webber’s unwavering devotion to his calling.
