Flight into the Ages follows the remarkable account of a young man whose lifelong wish to become an RAF pilot was unexpectedly derailed. During his training he was struck by a crippling, irrational fear of flying — a fear so profound that it forced him to walk away from the very career he had dreamed of since childhood. Medium Monica Hamers later suggested that this terror may have echoed from another lifetime, one in which he served as a Luftwaffe pilot and was shot down during the Second World War over British soil.

Ken Llewelyn, who would go on to serve as Senior Public Relations Officer for the RAAF in Canberra, was born in Scotland and spent most of his formative years in Australia. He returned to Britain in the late 1960s to enter the RAF, leaving in 1970 to pursue a path in journalism and public relations back in Australia.

Monica Hamers, widely regarded as one of Canberra’s most gifted and trusted mediums, has provided readings for a diverse range of people — from high-profile politicians and embassy officials to senior defence personnel and even motorcycle club members. A mother of three, she also dedicated years of her life to running a refuge for homeless boys.
